<br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe Jr. wanted to know if his ballot would be thrown out if he only voted for one <br />candidate on the first ballot. Mr. Wagner agreed saying it would be invalidated. <br /> <br />Ms. Brot called for the question and was agreed unanimously. <br />Roll Call on Mr. Wagner’s motion <br />AYES: Mr. Wagner, Ms. Brot, and Mr. Glickert <br />NAYS: Mr. Price, Mr. Sharpe, Jr. and Mayor Adams <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved to select one candidate and then have a second vote on the top two <br />candidates and was seconded by Mr. Sharpe Jr. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. asked Ms. Feier about the cost of an election. The cost of an election <br />would be approximately $25,000 and would be dependent on how many Cities having <br />ballot issues are available to share the cost. The City Clerk said that Mr. Mulligan was <br />checking into the legality of the time needed to allow for candidates to prepare for the <br />election, which would determine which election date would be the first date University City <br />could have a public election by the residents in the Second Ward. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe Jr. said that he would like to have this next vote and if deadlock, we need to <br />move on and continue this issue in a Special Session. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that we need to have the vote and was not in favor of having a Special <br />Sessions. <br /> <br />Voice Vote was three NAYS and three AYES <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that there is one other option. A Councilmember could move to appoint <br />a candidate to the Council and if seconded, then the Council would vote on it. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe Jr. moved to appoint Wayne Munkel to the Council from Second Ward, <br />seconded by Mr. Price. <br /> <br />Roll Call <br />AYES: Mr. Sharpe, Jr., Mr. Price and Mayor Adams <br />NAYS: Mr. Wagner, Ms. Brot, and Mr. Glickert <br /> <br />There were no other nominations from the floor. <br /> <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />CITIZENS COMMENTS: non-agenda items <br />Since Joan Botwinick, (511 Westview Dr) was unable to remain for citizen’s comments so <br />she gave the City Clerk her statement. Ms. Botwinick stated that she was assured by <br />Councilmembers from Ward One, that eminent domain would not be used with the money <br />from Prop U. She is concerned as an officer in the Missouri Eminent Domain Abuse <br />Coalition organization. She also stated that the ordinance did not have a plan for the <br />usage of the money. <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />
