BILL NO. 8516 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.44 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br /> RELATING TO PARKING RESTRICTIONS ON SPECIFIC STREETS, BY <br /> REPEALING SECTION 10.44.020 THEREOF, RELATING TO PARKING <br /> PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS DURING DESIGNATED HOURS, AND <br /> ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS <br /> "SECTION 10.44.020 PARKING PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS <br /> DURING DESIGNATED HOURS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO <br /> AS TO PROHIBIT PARKING DURING DESIGNATED HOURS AT SPECIFIED <br /> LOCATIONS ON HARVARD AND TRINITY AVENUES; CONTAINING A <br /> SAVING CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe moved approval. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion. The roll call vote <br />was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquirt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Schoomer, Mr. <br />Sharpe, and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill number 8516 passed and became <br />Ordinance number 6293. <br /> <br />BILL NO. 8517 - AMENDING CHAPTER 34 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO ZONING, BY REPEALING SECTION 34-37.5(2)(a) THEREOF <br />RELATING TO THE MINIMUM RIGHT-OF-WAY SETBACK IN THE "CC" - <br />CORE COMMERCIAL DISTRICT, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION KNOWN <br />AS "34-37.5(2)(a) MINIMUM RIGHT-OF-WAY SETBACK", BY AMENDING SAID <br />SECTION SO AS TO GRANT CITY COUNCIL THE ABILITY TO REDUCE SAID <br />RIGHT-OF-WAY SETBACK UNDER THE SITE PLAN REVIEW PROCESS; <br />CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams stated that this bill had substantive changes and should be defeated. A <br />replacement bill will read under introductions. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved defeat. Ms. Colquitt seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. Bill 8517 was defeated. <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS: <br /> <br />Judy Little, 6325 Waterman, wished to talk about MetroLink in respect to Parkview <br />Subdivision. The Historic Preservation Commission passed a resolution on this issue <br />last month and she had thought that Mr. Lieberman was going to read it tonight, but <br />obviously it did not happen. She stated that their purpose was to keep alive the effort to <br />keep all of the MetroLink line underground or at least below grade, especially as it <br />passes Parkview subdivision.
