Session 1808 <br />April 23, 2001 <br /> <br />request Council approval at this time so that there's no delay in getting this project <br />started by early summer. <br /> <br />The tabulation of the bids for the above named project is as follows: <br /> <br />Midwest Mudjacking & Construction ..........$533,885.25 <br />Bennish Construction Co ...........................$545,525.50 <br /> <br />Engineer's Estimate ...................................$537,041.05 <br /> <br />Funding for this project is from General Revenue Funds. Mr. OIlendorff recommends <br />that this project be awarded to Midwest Mudjacking & Construction Co., Inc. for their <br />low bid of $533,885.25. This bid includes the alley pavement south of Etzel Ave. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion, which carried <br />unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA #4 - APPLICATION FOR PERMIT TO SOLICIT - PRAISE MUSIC <br />MINISTRIES: <br /> <br />Mr. Oilendorff recommends approval of an application by Rev. James Gardner for <br />permission to solicit in front of the Schnuck store located at 6920 Olive, on July 20 and <br />21,2001 during daylight hours and with Schnuck's permission. <br /> <br />The organization's functions help support senior citizens' homes and orphanages, <br />hunger relief collections and youth scholarship funds. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt moved approval. Mr. Munkel seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt asked what organization Rev. Gardner was affiliated with and who and <br />what Praise Ministries was and how long they had been existence. Mr. OIlendorff said <br />that they are new to him and that this is the first time that they had applied in University <br />City. Mayor Adams believes that they have been around for a number of years. Ms. <br />Colquitt stated that she does not see any information that states that this organization is <br />actually giving monies to these charitable organizations - she was concerned because <br />nothing is known about this group. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer stated that since this is a religious organization and the area they will be <br />soliciting is on private property the Council does not really have a say in this matter <br />whatsoever. Mr. Ollendorff stated that the ordinance says that he is required to bring <br />these application to Council. <br /> <br />4 <br /> <br /> <br />
