Mr. Norfleet stated that the refrigerator for $600 should be removed, which will <br />balance it up. <br /> <br />743.11, recording system is for recording all incoming emergency and police business <br />calls, which has been done for 25 years. The current system is at the end of its life and <br />needs to be replaced. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that the police department asked for two bicycles and all the related <br />equipment. The Parkview Special Business district will be paying for this equipment, <br />not the City. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer asked for an estimate for the cost of providing emergency and refuse <br />services for the bike race. Mr. Ollendorff said that he would figure it out and get back <br />with him on Wednesday. <br /> <br />Items that the police would like to have are a carport and caller id for all police phones, <br />but we don't have the money. Mr. Ollendorff would also like to buy gunlocks to provide <br />to the citizens and encourage them to use them, but no money for it this year. <br /> <br />20.10 FIRE DEPARTMENT <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff directed Council to a few corrections: 726.01 Buildings should be <br />$27,900. Major renovations are needed to station #3. A new roof is being put on now. <br />We need all new storm windows, new doors, both engine houses need to be painted, <br />dusk to dawn lights, ceiling fans. 731.03 office furniture and equipment should be <br />$12,000. This is for new software, a server and new pc's. To answer Mr. Munkel's <br />question, Mr. Ollendorff explained that 732.20 wearing apparel is for regular uniforms, <br />whereas 743.14 weapons and protective equipment is for turnout gear. The life cycle of <br />turnout gear is about six years, but he will check to make sure. 728.05, education <br />benefits, is 34, 100 with $6,000 of this being for training for certification over the internet. <br />Under 743.08, computer hardware, is actually for a EMS reporting system. This will be <br />a mobile system, all emergency services vehicles will have a built in computer, which <br />will be able to communicate vital signs and other info back and forth to the hospital. <br /> <br />The Chief Medical Officer will get the City Manager's old vehicle because the City <br />Manager is due for a new vehicle.
