The City Manager reconm~_nded <br />setting a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. November 20, 1989 to consider a propos- <br />al amending t_he Zoning Code by requiring that the unfinished side of fences <br />face the property interior on which they are constructed. The Plan Co~,u~.~ssion <br />approved the proposed amendment on a 4--2 vote; however, the City Manager did <br />not rec~,m~nd approval since enforcement: would be difficult. <br /> <br />Settin~ Public Hearin~ - Zoninq Amendment (#3). The City Manager rec~nded <br />setting a public hearing for 7:30 p.m. Nov~mg~-r 20, 1989 to consider a propos- <br />al unanimously rec~,~_nded by the Plan C~,,~.~ssion and requested by the City <br />Council ~o more accurately define retail.-ou~,~rcial uses and retail-con~ercial <br />district. <br /> <br />Conditional Use Amendment - 7500 Delmar Boulevard (#4~. The City Manager con- <br />cuffed in the unanimous rec~,,~ndation f~.om the Plan Cu~ssion that the con- <br />ditional use permit for U. City Automotive be amended to allow an expanded re- <br />pair bay area to the rear of the buildir~, provided a six-foot landscape strip <br />along Hanley is installed, and further provided that the exterior of the new <br />beys match the remainder of the street frontage of the present building. All <br />previous conditions will remain as established by the City Council and agreed <br />to by the applicant. <br /> <br />Considez-ation of Bids for Asphalt Work at Heman and Kinqsland Par'ks (#5). In- <br />vitations to bid on constructing bask~tkall courts at Heman Park and a playlot <br />and walkway at Kingsland Park were sent to 12 contractors, with the following <br /> <br /> Southard Construction C~any $22,000 <br /> Gateway Contractors 27,512 <br /> Byrne & Jones Construct:ion 28,380 <br /> <br />There are no known minority or female suppliers for this service. Acceptance <br />of the low bi~ of $22,000 from Southard Construction Col~oany was recommended. <br /> <br />Consideration of Bids for Tree Pruni]~ (#6).
