It was recc~,~nded t_hat the <br />bid of $29,925 fz~ T & L Tree Service, Inc. be accepted. <br /> <br />Cons~d-ration of Bids for Polioe UD/foi~T~ (#7). Invitations to bid on esti- <br />mated police uniform requii~nta for the remainder of the 1989-90 fiscal year <br />were sent to four local suppliers. Ve_ndors were asked to submit firm prices <br />on all clothing and leather goods on ~ "as needed" basis. The response was <br />as follows: <br /> Universal Uniform $11,051.45 <br /> Law E~forc~nent Equipment (woman- 11,165.12 <br /> owned) (no bid on two items) <br /> <br />The toe~] for Law Enforcement Equipment represents their minimum bid. For es- <br />timated requirements of oversize items, the co~any submitted a range of pric- <br />es, with their maximum bid being $11,1380.74. Therefore, it was recu~u,~nded <br />that the bid of $11,051.45 from Universal Uniform be accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. luna,s moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. schoomer seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimously. <br /> <br />I~JBLIC HEARING - PROPERTY VACATION, OLD BON~C~E AT GANNON <br /> <br />The city Manager said a public hearing was set for 7:30 p.m. to hear and con- <br />sider ccm~nt~ on the vacating of a small vacant triangle of City-owned prop- <br />erty measuring 64' by 70' by 90' at the northwest corner of Old Bonhomme and <br />Gannon. Vacating would allow the adjacent property owner to the west to use <br />the property, and the property owner to the north has no objection to this. <br />Mayor Majerus opened the public heari~ at 7:37 p.m. There were no requests <br />to speak, and the Mayor closed the public hearing at 7:37 p.m. <br /> <br />Mrs. Sch~nan asked that a bill be prepared to carry out this vacation. <br /> <br />SI'f~ PLAN - 7732 BLACKBERRY <br /> <br />The city Manager reco~,,~nded that the site plan for a second-story addition to <br />the home at 7732 Blackberry. not be approved at this time. He said the appli- <br />cant should be advised to d]ange the plan in accordance with staff recommenda- <br />tions or some other way that may be fo~d to minimize the visual impact of the <br />addition being out of line with other homes on this street. He recommended <br />that the application be tabled until such time as it is revised. He pointed <br />out there %~s no objection to an addition, only to the manner in which it is <br />planned. <br /> <br />Ms. Polly Downs, owner of 7732 Blackbe_rTy, said there were several homes in <br />her neighborhood with the type of addition she was planning, and she distrib- <br />uted photographs to the Council which s~%e said showed t]~is. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams asked Mr. Goldman, Director of Planning, to explain the modifica- <br />tions the Planning Department was sugg~;ting. Mr. Goldman said the Ms. Downs' <br />drawing shows an addition at the l~_ar of the house, but the addition is higher <br />than the ridge line of the roof ar~ it presents a vertical facade above the <br />ridge of the roof.
