The front page headline reads, "MetroLink Planners will Change Their
Ways". According to the article, the East West Gateway Coordinating Council is
ready to change the way it plans future MetroLink expansion, in an effort to give
the public a stronger voice as the project is developed. The University City Council
has been striving for this change. Our resolutions on the subject have reflected a
number of local issues for which we have received no appropriate attention in the
current planning process. Particularly commendable for East West Gateway is their
intent to hold Charette meetings to include local residents early and often in the
planning process. I commend Les Sterman and the East West Gateway
Coordinating Council for this beneficial improvement to the MetroLink planning
process and hope it represents a real change.

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

CONSENT CALENDAR (4 ITEMS):

# I - Golf Tee Renovation: Bids for renovations of six tees at Ruth Park Golf Course
were submitted to three experienced companies. $19,500 was budgeted.
