Session 1813 <br />June 4, 2001 <br /> <br />Commission will be preparing updated regulations so that appropriate zoning ordinance <br />clarifications can be adopted by the City Council. We do not want to encourage the <br />establishment of businesses in these categories until such time as our zoning <br />ordinance has been brought up to date in line with recent State and Federal legislation <br />and judicial rulings. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman moved approval. Mr. Wagner seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Lieberman, Mr. Ollendorff responded that there had been quite a bit <br />of research done, but that the final legislation had not been drafted. They need a few <br />more weeks. It will need to be reviewed by the Plan Commission first for a <br />recommendation to the City Cou~ncil. The whole process should be completed well <br />within six months. Constitutionality is being looked at very closely. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer said that this follows closely with the freedom of speech question and the <br />issues of censorship and he prefers to air in favor of keeping our freedoms open. He <br />will be watching this very closely'. <br /> <br />The motion to approve carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM #6 - 2001-02 B[JDGET: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended adoption of the budget for the fiscal year beginning July 1, <br />including all revisions noted at City Council budget meetings on May 14, 16, and 21, <br />2001. The final budget document will reflect all changes approved by the City Council <br />and will be available for use by City staff and the public by the beginning of the fiscal <br />year. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved adoption. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt asked Mr. Ollendodf if the teen wages had been increased. Mr. Ollendorff <br />said that the salaries would be the subject of a different vote. He said that there is a bill <br />on the docket this evening that sets the salaries for the next fiscal year. The teen's <br />salaries can be discussed this evening and at the next council meeting. <br /> <br />The motion to adopt the budget carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that the Council is now in the summer mode of dress. <br /> <br />7 <br /> <br /> <br />
