Ms. Glickert said that she <br />saw notice of the public hearing in the Citizen Journal just yesterday on this matter. <br />She mentioned that St. Ann was successful removing this type of business from their <br />borders and suggested talking to them on how they did it. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams closed the public hearing at 7:43 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner commented that we were putting this type of business under a moratorium <br />while we bring our ordinance into line with recent case law. We are not favoring lifting <br />any restrictions that we already have. Mayor Adams said that he wishes to make it as <br />tight as possible. <br /> <br />AGENDA #3 - PUBLIC HEARING - REQUEST FOR CABLE TELEVISION <br />FRANCHISE TRANSFER: <br /> <br />A public hearing has been set for June 25, 2001, at 7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers <br />of the Municipal building. This public hearing is to hear comments on a request to <br />transfer the cable franchise agreement from AT&T Broadband to Charger <br />Communications, The public hearing has been set consistent with the guidelines <br />outlined in Article I, Section 18 of the Cable Franchise agreement. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:53 p.m. <br /> <br />Jay Bordeaux, AT&T Broadband, gave an update on the City's I-Net. Mr. Bordeaux <br />reported that it should be complete this coming Friday. <br /> <br />Jim Bogart, Charter Communications - 3660 S. Geyer, gave Council an update of the <br />Charter transfer from AT&T this Friday. He reported Charter's plans on upgrading all <br />systems to state-of-the-art systems. <br /> <br />Responding to Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Bogart stated that no one in his organization had yet <br />spoken with CALOP, but they have every intention of honoring in commitments and <br />relationships that previously existed. They would hope to be able to enhance local <br />programming. <br /> <br />Responding to Mayor Adams, Mr. Bogart said that users will eventually see a change in <br />the channel line up. There will also be new services added. It will be similar to AT&T's, <br />but somewhat different to be consistent to other Charter systems.
