Session 1715, Minutes ? <br />February 9, 1998 <br /> <br />INTRODUCTION OF NEW FIRIF CAPTAIN: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said that he had the honor of introducing the City's newest fire captain to <br />the Council and audience, Julius Acoff. Mr. Ollendorff said that Captain Acoff had been <br />an employee of the Fire Department for twenty years and is a long time resident of <br />University City. He was at the top of the list for a recent promotional procedure. Mr. <br />Ollendorff also recognized other Fire Department personnel that were present to <br />support their new Captain. Applause followed. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />CONSENT CALENDAR (3 ITEMS): <br /> <br /># 1 -Demolition Bids- 7715 Olive, Economic Development Site: Bids have been <br />received for the demolition of the building at this location in the Olive Central Tax <br />Increment Finance District: <br /> <br />Corvera Abatement Technologies <br />Spiritas Wrecking Company <br />Duneman Demolition <br />Aalco Wrecking Co., Inc. <br /> <br />$9,568.00 <br />$9,324.OO <br />$6,845.00 <br />$6,400.00 <br /> <br />This property is one of several obtained by the TIF District in order to put together a <br />parcel of land large enough to attract a developer. The goal is to have a commercial <br />building providing jobs and tax revenue for the City and its residents. Parcel assembly <br />is nearing completion. Mr. Ollendorff recommended acceptance of the Aalco bid of <br />$6,400.00. <br /> <br /># 2. Zoning Amendment - Signs: Mr. Ollendorff recommended setting March 16th at <br />7:30 p.m. in the Council Chambers as the time and place for a public hearing to <br />consider clarification of zoning regulations regarding the location, size, height, spacing, <br />lighting and related provisions for off-premises advertising signs. The overall goal of <br />the revisions is to limit such signs to appropriate locations near Interstate 170. <br /> <br /># 3- Police Vehicle: Invitations for Bids were issued for purchasing one new 1998 <br />Chevrolet Lumina for the Police Department. A trade-in allowance was requested for a <br />1995 Chevrolet Lumina police car. The following response was received: <br /> <br />Butler Chevrolet <br /> <br />Subtotal Trade-In Total <br />$18,370 $6,800 $11,570 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommends purchasing the vehicle from Butler for $11,570.00. <br /> <br /> <br />
