The Centennial Greenway will connect Mona Terrace common ground across Groby to the undeveloped open space between the River des Peres and the Value City shopping center on Olive Boulevard.
A mid-block pedestrian crossing of Groby should be developed. The Centennial Greenway will pass behind Value City on the south edge of the property. Doing so will necessitate an open
space easement or acquisition of a 20 to 30 corridor through the property. The Centennial Greenway will serve as a buffer between the Value City service area and adjacent houses.
The Centennial Greenway will connect to the school property via pedestrian bridge at west end of Value City West of 81st Street the Centennial Greenway will continue along the north
edge of Brittany Woods School track and athletic field, Ruth Park Golf Course and into Ruth Woods. Landscape and possibly fencing should be considered to separate the trail from the
golf course. Developing the Centennial Greenway in Ruth Woods should be coordinated with improving the River des Peres corridor. The river edge should be terraced to allow for increased
meander and to expand wetlands. The Centennial Greenway may follow the river in some places, but should offer a diverse experience of forest and river edge. Small soft surface trails
within the Woods should be improved and protected from the Centennial Greenway to allow for a quiet, nature oriented
over 81st Street.
experience within the Woods.
