As the Centennial Greenway turns west from the Interstate 170 corridor, it will cross under the Interstate via a re-configured box culvert along the River des Peres. In its current
configuration the Rivers des Peres underpass is a series of three box culvert cells full of sediment and debris. All three culverts will require excavation to improve flow efficiency
and construction of a concrete trail in the southern most box. From the River des Peres underpass, the Centennial Greenway will connect to Woodson Park in the City of Overland. An
open space easement should be negotiated with private land owners along the river to allow the trail to ramp out of floodplain parallel to the river channel. The river edge should be
improved with native riparian vegetation Once in Woodson Park, the Centennial Greenway will continue southwest and pass through a park area developed on land owned by the United States
government and associated with the Federal Records Center. The Centennial Greenway will link to the rail corridor in Olivette to complete a loop back to Olive Boulevard and on to Indian
Meadows
wherever possible. Coordination with the US Army Corps of Engineers and MSD will be necessary.
Park.
