Session 1831
February 11,2002

CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS:

AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR:

#1- Picnic Liquor License - 7157 Northmoor. The City Council may approve the picnic
liquor license requested by Our Lady of Lourdes Parish for their annual picnic on May
25, 2002. They wish to sell beer and wine by the drink during this event which has been
held for many years without any complaints being received.

Mr. Wagner moved approval of the consent calendar. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion,
which carried unanimously.

CITIZEN COMMENTS:

Tom Sadowski, 8027 Noel Ct., representing Block Unit 918, expressed frustration about
the ongoing scheduling delays on the repair of the 82nd Street Bridge. Mr. Ollendorff
and Mayor Adams begged his patience a while longer. The funds are waiting approval
at the Missouri Department of Transportation level and cannot progress without it. It
should not be much longer.

Linda Peoples, 1532 Park Way, also expressed her ongoing frustration with the 82n~
Street Bridge repair delay. Mayor Adams assured her that the Council and City staff
were just as frustrated and that hopefully, the City would receive Missouri Department of
Transportation approval soon to begin the bid process.

John Cross, 6847 Raymond, stated that the City has made great gains toward diversity
and that it would a backwards step to encourage parts of the City to be named after
ethnic groups. The Olive Street Business Association has proposed that that part of
Olive be called "Chinatown". He believes that this would not benefit the City and would,
in fact, turn off potential customers. He requests that the Council not allow this to
happen.

Eileen Halasey, 7301 Cornell Ave., a trustee for the University Park Subdivision
Trustees, stated that she was here to protest the fact that it was legal for home builders
to build homes with only one entry/exit door. She asked that the City Council pass a
moratorium on any building that allows for only one door until this could be further
studied by staff for a possible amendment to the code.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READING:

2
