<br />AGENDA ITEM #3 — Allocation of Projects for the Community Development Block Grant. <br />The City has been allocated $103,399 for Community Development Block Grant for January <br />1, 2007. Revising allocation after comments from June 16, 2006 Public Hearing resulted in <br />the following: <br />Police Community Services <br /> Parkview Gardens $18,000 <br /> University City North $18,000 <br /> <br />Food for the Hungry $ 8,000 <br />(If Mt. Gideon Missionary Baptist Church can receive funding to feed the homeless, $4,000 <br />should be granted. If not, $4,000 will be added back to Police Community Services.) <br /> <br />Code Enforcement <br /> Parkview Gardens $11,000 <br />University City North $25,000 <br /> <br />Trees, Forestry <br /> Parkview Gardens $ 2,000 <br /> University City North $ 4,000 <br /> <br />Rehabilitation of Private Property— $11,399 <br /> City Wide <br /> <br />Energy Assistance Program $ 6,000 <br /> <br /> <br />Ms. Brot and Mr. Price recommended changes as follows: <br />Police Community Services <br /> Parkview Gardens $18,000 – change to $12,000 <br /> <br />Rehabilitation of Private Property $11,399 – change to $13,339 <br /> <br />Energy Assistance Program $ 6,000 – change to $ 10,000 <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved to accept the amended distribution of the Grant money, was seconded by <br />Ms. Brot and was approved unanimously. Then Mr. Wagner moved for approval of the entire <br />list as amended, was seconded by Mr. Glickert and approved unanimously. <br /> <br /> <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br /> <br />Elsie Glickert ,6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert said she agreed with Mr. Price’s dollar amount changes. She also commented <br />on absentee landlords who buy buildings for the profit and show very little community <br />concern. She agreed that Parkview Gardens has received this funding for the last 30 years <br />and should now be distributed to other areas. Ms. Glickert wanted to be sure that the food for <br />the homeless was restricted to University City residents only. She also suggested that the <br />County Municipal League be contacted. <br /> <br /> <br />
