Ms. Brot explained about the Sutter Meyer Society’s goal to make the oldest house in <br />University City into a living museum. The Society has applied for their first state grant for <br />outreach and planning. Ms. Brot invited everyone to come to the open house on <br />September 16 to see the Sutter-Meyer house, along with an architectural dig. Ms. Brot <br />invited everyone to attend to the Community Flea Market and Outdoor Yard Sale on <br />September 15 from 8:00 to 2:00 at Heman Park Pool parking lot. Ms. Brot congratulated <br />the University City Police Department on their receiving its fourth award from the <br />Commission on Accreditation for Law Enforcement Agencies. This award is present every <br />three years. Ms. Brot mentioned the October 28 Washington University Extravaganza at <br />560 Trinity building opening. In reference to the “Big Read” which University City <br />participated, she stated the sixth grade students from University City were able to meet <br />with the author of Hanna’s Suitcase at Washington University. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. thanked the City Manager for making changes to the City Council meetings <br />for 2008. He wanted to give credit to University City In Bloom for the marvelous job they <br />do keeping our City beautiful. Partridge Heights Neighborhood Association is having their <br />gala meeting on September 13 at 7:00 p.m. at 7975 Pennsylvania and he would like to <br />invite each Councilmember. <br /> <br />D-1-i <br />Mr. Price announced the National Night Out is Tuesday, August 7, from 6:00 – 10:00 at <br />Heman Park. The Back to School Rally is from 10 – 2 Saturday, August 11. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced the Special Council meeting on August 20 at 6:00 and then the <br />Study Session at 6:30. The next Council meeting will be September 4, 2007, at 6:30 p.m. <br />Mayor Adams encouraged Council to make a decision on whether a Municipal Grant <br />should be applied for in September to help fund the construction of the Driving <br />Range/Learning Center. <br /> <br />N. <br />Mr. Wagner moved to go into an Executive Session, seconded by Mr. Glickert and <br /> <br />approved unanimously.Meeting was adjourned at 9:15 p.m. <br /> <br /> <br />Joyce Pumm <br />City Clerk <br />August 20, 2007 <br /> <br />
