Session 1850 <br />August 26, 2002 <br /> <br />Mayor Adams said that the Boy Scout Troop 493 from Samuel Church was in the <br />audience to get their citizenship badges. <br /> <br />ANNOUNCEMENTS: <br /> <br />The Missouri Emergency Medical Services Association gave to the University City Fire <br />Department the Service of the Year award on August 7. <br /> <br />On September 11, at about 8:30 a.m. there will be a 9/11 memorial in front of the Fire <br />Department. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - CONSENT CALENDAR: <br /> <br />#1 - Muscular Dystrophy Association Solicitation Permit: Mr. Ollendorff recommended <br />approval of the annual MDA fill the boot day by members of the University City Fire <br />Department at the University Square Schnucks store on August 31 through September <br />2, 2002. We have always given full support to this voluntary charitable program. <br /> <br />#2 -Picnic Beer License - University City Loop: Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval <br />for the license to sell beer during the University City Loop in Motion festival on Leland, <br />north of Delmar on October 5, 2002. The applicant this year is the University City Loop <br />Community Foundation. <br /> <br />#3 -Rotary Mower: Bids for providing a rotary mower for the Parks Department have <br />been received. $30,000 was set aside in the budget for this Capital Outlay purchase. <br />The bids were tabulated as follows: <br /> <br />OUTDOOR EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />$29,998.50 <br /> <br />BIG BEAR EQUIPMENT <br /> <br />$35,888.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended purchasing this equipment from Outdoor Equipment for <br />their Iow bid of $29,998.50. <br /> <br />#4 - City Calendars: Bids for printing the 2003 City Calendar have been received. Eight <br />printers were invited to submit bids for printing 22,500 calendars.
