Session 1854 <br />October 7, 2002 <br /> <br />moved by Mr. Lieberman, to adopt the resolution, seconded by Mr. Sharpe, which <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />APPOINTMENT / REAPPOINTMENT: <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved the re-appointment of Dr. James Koch, 500 Donne Avenue, to the <br />Pension Boards. Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion and was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved the appointment of Mondonna L. Ghasedi, 6944 Kingsbury, to the <br />Board of Building Code of Appeals. Mr. Lieberman seconded the motion and was <br />carried unanimously. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE: <br /> <br />Ms. Forsythe administered the oath of office to Eric Reese (Board of Adjustment) and <br />Melissa Kreishman (Board of Adjustment), Gretchen Barry (Library Board), and to <br />Stefany Brot (C.A.L.O.P.). <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked each for their willingness to serve. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REPORTS: <br /> <br />Before giving his report, Mr. Ollendorff introduced Mr. Thomas Moton, Assistant City <br />Manager as of 10/07/02. Mr. Moton was welcomed by the Mayor and Councilmembers. <br /> <br />AGENDA #1 - COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT BLOCK GRANT TRANSFER TO <br />NORTHEAST ALLEYS: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that, in the past, the City Council approved this CDBG Block Grant <br />allocation while indicating that the amounts proposed for refurbishing curbs and <br />sidewalks in the 800 block of Leland may be subject to transfer to higher priority <br />projects (alleys in the northeast portion of University City.) He stated that if Council was <br />ready to act, they could request those changes that evening or before the end of the <br />year. It was moved to adopt by Ms. Colquitt and seconded by Mr. Sharpe. <br /> <br />During the call for discussion, Mr. Wagner stated that he attended the meeting for <br />Community Block Grant planning hosted by Willie Norfleet. There was widespread <br />interest in getting the money for those alleys north of Olive which are in bad need of <br />repair. Some of the work is being done this year and he's in favour of deferring some <br />until next year. <br /> <br />Mr. Sharpe expressed his thanks and appreciation to Bob Wagner for his ingenuity and <br />enthusiasm in looking into the matter and bringing about a result. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch agreed with Mr. Wagner that, at the discussions, the alleys were a high <br /> <br />2 <br /> <br /> <br />
