Community Engagement
Washington University staff and the design team have met with the City of University City staff to
share design concepts and understand municipal concerns and requirements. University staff met
with the neighborhood trustees of Ames Place and Parkview in April 2016 to share information
regarding the project and gather initial feedback. On May 4, 2016, Washington University held an
open house and invited all residents of Ames Place, Parkview and Rosedale Heights to review the
proposal and gather neighborhood input on the bridge and ramp designs. Over 500 households
received mailed invitations, as well as invitations via social media. Approximately 30 neighbors
attended. (See Exhibit 4 for a copy of the invitation, the summary proposal provided and the full
comments.)
At these meetings, neighbors were invited to provide comment on two options:
1.A wider, user-separated
2.A user-separated which includes an elbow to reduce the speed of cyclist
tƩƚƦƚƭğƌ Ʒƚ ‘źķĻƓ ƷŷĻ tĻķĻƭƷƩźğƓ wğƒƦ Ʒƚ ƷŷĻ CƚƩĻƭƷ tğƩƉ tğƩƉǞğǤ .ƩźķŭĻ tğŭĻ ЊЉ
