Neighbors attending the meetings expressed an overall preference for option 2 the elbow option. <br />An informal vote was taken at the May 4 meeting 20 attendees preferred the elbow option, 3 <br />preferred the widened ramp, and 5 preferred that no change take place. Residents also expressed <br />their concerns about safety, including comments about hits/near-misses between pedestrians and <br />cyclists. <br />Comments regarding Option 1 concluded that it will not slow bicycle traffic or prevent cyclists from <br />using the pedestrian path. <br />Comments regarding Option 2: <br />Separation of users is appealing <br /> <br />Appreciation for the elbow/ calming device to slow cyclists <br /> <br />Questioning if the width of the bicycle elbow is adequate to allow for safe turning <br /> <br />Concern about whether the area under the elbow would be landscaped and maintained, <br /> <br />and whether plants would grow in this shaded environment <br />Suggestion that creating a taller curb around the elbow may provide additional safety <br /> <br />General concerns expressed: <br />Ensure that the ramp railing is opaque on the Parkview side to allow privacy for the <br /> <br />property owners <br /> <br />property.
