To: Honorable Mayor Adams and City Council
From: Julie Feier, City Manager
Date: February 25, 2008
Subject: City Manager’s Report
Council Security:
1. As a follow up to our previous conversations regarding
council and court security, please find the revised bailiff protocol attached to your
weekly. We have sufficient staffing at Municipal Court. We will be increasing the
security budget for housing court. We have two options regarding Council
meetings. We can choose to have one plain-clothes officer in attendance at our
Council meetings for the remainder of 2008 for $1,600 or if we operate medical
detectors, two officers would be required for a total of $3,160. This assumes an
average meeting time of three hours per meeting at an average hourly overtime
rate of $37.62.
Joint Meeting with Olivette:
2. The City of Olivette has requested a joint
meeting March 12 or March 19, they have offered to host a late afternoon get
together at around 5:30 PM or 6:00 PM. If this fits your schedules and you are
interested in attending, please let me know Monday night.
Revenue Options Study Session
3.: I thought I would place on the agenda,
in order to provide an opportunity for additional public comment and field any
general follow up questions
Residential Densities:
4. I provided a report from Community Development
regarding residential densities on February 14. Mr. Walker can field questions at
the March 24 study session or would you like the recommendations drafted into
ordinance for our next meeting?
