Ward Painting ....................$24,985.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended awarding the contract to Jos. Ward Painting for <br />their bid of $24,985.00. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel moved and Ms. Colquitt seconded approval of the Consent Calendar. <br />The motion was carried unanimously. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 2 - PUBLIC HEARING-HIGH RISE BUILDING SETBACKS <br /> <br />ZONING TEXT AMENDMENT: <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff reported that a public hearing has been set for 7:30 p.m. in Council <br />Chambers to invite public comment on a plan commission recommended <br />amendment to the zoning text. This amendment would allow rebuilding of high <br />rise elevator apartment buildings in the HR zone with a variance from current <br />setback requirements. The effect of this change is to permit redevelopment of <br />Parkview Towers at 701 Westgate and any similarly situated buildings <br />constructed to meet earlier zoning requirements. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing opened at 7:39 p.m. There being no <br />requests to speak, he closed the hearing at 7:39 p.m. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman stated that there were no opposition from the Historic <br />Preservation Commission on this issue. <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 3 - PUBLIC HEARING - REZONING 1513 NORTH & SOUTH <br /> <br />ROAD: <br /> <br />The City Manager stated that the City Council scheduled a public hearing to <br />allow residents the opportunity to comment on the recommended rezoning of this <br />parcel of land from limited commercial to single family residential; this would <br />allow construction of three new homes which would meet all ordinance <br />requirements. It would also protect the surrounding neighborhood from the <br />prospect of new commercial uses. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams opened the public hearing at 7:40 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Rosemary Boyne, 1501 North & South Road inquired as to the exact <br />location and the proposed type of housing. Mr. Ollendorff responded that the <br />proposal was for three town-homes and offered to phone her the following day <br />with information on the exact zoning.
