Session 1881 <br />May 5, 2003 <br /> concurred. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved to authorize the City manager to proceed on the baseline <br />expansion plans. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. Mayor Adams called for the <br />vote and the motion was approved unanimously. <br /> <br />(added) AGENDA ITEM #6 - Prop K Committee Recommendations: <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that another item was being added to the agenda, <br />namely the Prop K Committee's recommendations to the Council. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved to add the topic to the agenda and Mr. Munkel seconded. <br />Mayor Adams called for the vote and the motion was approved. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that he had received the draft document that included all the <br />recommendations. He recommended that Council adopt the concept statement <br />for improvements to the pool. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch asked for information concerning item #25, i.e., <br /> <br />the feasibility of one, two or three meter diving boards - the costs, the <br />insurance and safety concerns. <br />safety considerations in connection with the water slides, including needed <br />changes in insurance coverage, personnel needs, and safety (will pool be <br />deep enough) <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel clarified that Council will only be approving the concept and the <br />additions from the study session were not included. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner stated the four items that the Council agreed upon at the study <br />session were: <br /> <br />No zero depth entry to main swimming pool. There will be a center- <br />located ramp at the north end of the pool. <br />Authorize City Manager to have the engineers complete the design <br />of the baby pool expansion for at least three times its present size <br />so that the water re-circulating filtration system could be designed <br />accordingly. <br />Investigate adding diving boards (one, two or three meters) and <br />one water-slide at the eastern end of the pool. <br />Approve the design of in-pool and overhead lighting to <br />accommodate extended hours of operation. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman added that these were items were discussed at the study session <br /> Page 4 <br /> <br /> <br />
