Session 1886 <br />May19,2003 <br /> <br />6) Picnic Liquor License-524 Trinity <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended approving a picnic liquor license at COCA on May 29, <br />2003 for a special event during which beer and wine will be sold for consumption on <br />the premises. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner made the motion to accept the Consent Calendar. Mr. Sharpe made <br />the second and the motion carried <br /> <br />AGENDA ITEM # 2 - Budget Public Hearing <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff state that the City Council has scheduled the second public hearing <br />on the city's budget for 7:30 p.m. for this date and place. It is another opportunity for <br />citizens to comment on the budget prior to action by the City Council. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing opened at 7:38 p.m. <br /> <br />Ms. Sandy Wool, 731 Oakbrook Lane, offered an artist's rendition of three benches <br />at an estimated cost of $1971.00 as a solution to the loss of trees during the filling in <br />of a drainage ravine. <br /> <br />Mr. Lieberman asked if she had approached the Art & Letters Commission. Ms. <br />Wool answered that they responded positively but did not have the money in the <br />budget. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel stated that the proposal was a parks & forestry type of project and <br />offered his support <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch asked if additional trees were scheduled for removal. Ms. Wool <br />answered that the trees were de-limbed; trunk removal has been postponed to <br />determine the outcome of their proposal. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch inquired about wood treatment for the benches. She was told that the <br />artist would provide the first coat and the neighbors would keep up the treatment <br />annually. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel requested a report from the staff on the proper wood treatment to use. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner also expressed his support. He clarified that there would be a carving <br />and three benches from the same tree. Ms. Wool said that the squirrel would be on <br />one island and a bench on each of the other islands. <br /> <br />Mr. Jim Thomas, Director of University City Residential Services at 630 Trinity, <br />recapped its request for an increase in funding at $70,000. They have also <br />submitted a separate request for floor replacement and a $2000 bid for the work.
