Session 1886
May19,2003

Mr. Wagner solicited information about police presence. The City Manager reported
increased patrol, tickets & warnings for the first week; no more warnings are being
issued only, real tickets.

Mr. Munkel asked if the matter should go before the Traffic commission. Mr.
Ollendorff answered that referral was not necessary.

Ms. Colquitt wanted to know how soon after meeting can Pershing be closed down
and the speed limit reduced? Frank Ollendorff suggested that Council await see
what Metrolink's reaction after the planned meeting.

Mr. Lieberman noted that Metrolink located closure signs at Midvale instead of
Jackson (as planned); that is too late for eastbound traffic.

Mr. Wagner suggested moving the mobile sign at Kingsbury & Big Bend to Jackson
and its change message.

Mr. Sharpe stated that he hoped that the solutions and issues are shared with the
citizens.

Hyla Bondareff, 7040 Pershing Avenue, commented on the importance of reducing
speed. She noted over 22 children under 10 years of age on her block and the
dangers posed by speeding cars during the day.

Alex Schillinger, 7145 Pershing Avenue, expressed concern that the problems may
not be temporary. He said that there had always been a problem; it's intensified
because on the Forest Park construction. Mr. Schillinger was concerned that people
will like the alternative and may continue to use that route after the construction on
Forest Park Parkway was completed. His primary concern was not for the increased
number of cars but for their speed.

CITY CLERK'S DOCKET:

BILLS FOR SECOND AND THIRD READINGS:

BILL 8655 - APPROVING A FINAL SUBDIVISION PLAT OF A
TRACT OF LAND TO BE KNOWN AS "7828 AND 7830 DELMAR
CONDOMINIUM" AND LOCATED AT 7828 AND 7830 DELMAR.

The bill was given its second reading.
The bill was given its third reading.

Ms. Welsch offered the motion to adopt the ordinance. Ms. Colquitt seconded
the motion.
