Session 1904 <br />December 15, 2003 <br /> <br />Bill Number 8699 passed and became Ordinance Number 6467. <br /> <br />BILL 8700 - AMENDING CHAPTER 5.72 OF THE CITY CODE, RELATING TO <br />SELF-SERVICE LAUNDRIES AND DRY CLEANING ESTABLISHMENTS, BY <br />REPEALING SECTION 5.72.020, RELATING TO HOURS WHEN <br />ESTABLISHMENTS MAY BE OPEN, AND ENACTING A NEW SECTION SO AS <br />TO AUTHORIZE THE CITY COUNCIL AND CITY MANAGER TO SET <br />EXTENDED HOURS OF OPERATION; CONTAINING A SAVING CLAUSE AND <br />PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt moved approval and Ms. Welsch seconded the motion. The roll call <br />vote was as follows: <br />AYES: Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe, Ms. <br />Colquitt and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill Number 8700 passed and became <br />Ordinance Number 6468. <br /> <br />BILL 8701 - AMENDING CHAPTER 5.08 OF THE CITY CODE, RELATING TO <br />ALCOHOLIC BEVERAGES, BY REPEALING SECTION 5.08.240 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO HOURS OF SALE AND CLOSING-SALE ON SUNDAY, AND <br />ENACTING A NEW SECTION SO AS TO PERMIT RESTAURANT BARS TO <br />SELL INTOXICATING LIQUOR BY THE DRINK AT RETAIL FOR <br />CONSUMPTION ON THE PREMISES BETWEEN NINE A.M. AND MIDNIGHT <br />ON SUNDAY; CONTAINING A SAVINGS CLAUSE AN PROVIDING A <br />PENALTY. <br /> <br />The bill was given its second reading. <br />The bill was given its third reading. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel asked if this measure made the City law consistent with State law, <br />and was advised that it does. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved approval and Mr. Munkel seconded the motion.
