The roll call <br />vote was as follows: AYES: Ms. Colquitt, Mr. Munkel, Mr. Wagner, Mr. <br />Lieberman, Ms. Welsch, Mr. Sharpe and Mayor Adams. NAYS: none. Bill <br />Number 8705 passed and became Ordinance Number 6473. <br /> <br />BILLS FOR INTRODUCTION <br /> <br />1. Mr. Wagner introduced Bill 8706, which was given its first reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 10.36 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO REGULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, <br />BY REPEALING SECTION 10.36.130 THEREOF, <br />RELATING TO CERTAIN VEHICLES ON CERTAIN STREETS - <br />EXCEPTIONS, AND ENACTING IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE <br />KNOWN AS "SECTION 10.36.130 CERTAIN VEHICLES PROHIBITED ON <br />CERTAIN STREETS-EXCEPTIONS, THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION <br />SO AS TO PROHIBIT CERTAIN VEHICLES ON JACKSON AVENUE AND <br />FORSYTH BOULEVARD BETWEEN SPECIFIED POINTS; CONTAINING A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />2. Ms. Welsch introduced Bill 8707, which was given its first reading: <br /> <br />AN ORDINANCE AMENDING CHAPTER 6.08 OF THE UNIVERSITY CITY <br />MUNICIPAL CODE, RELATING TO DOGS, BY REPEALING SECTION 6.08.215 <br />THEREOF, RELATING TO DOG PLAY AREAS, AND ENACTING A NEW <br />SECTION SO AS TO INCREASE THE ANNUAL LICENSE FEE FOR <br />RESIDENTS TO USE THE DOG PLAY AREA AND ESTABLISH A FEE AND <br />RELATED REQUIREMENTS FOR NONRESIDENTS; CONTAINING A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Munkel asked why this measure was needed, stating that the City seemed to be <br />controlling this area and licensing dogs, when, during the planning stages, it has been <br />noted the City did not want this responsibility. He asked if there is a need to do this. <br /> <br />Bert Sterbenz, 7000 Cornell Avenue, and Sandy Schenck, 7301 Stanford Avenue, both <br />proponents of this bill answered Mr. Munkel's question by advising their intention <br /> Page 10 <br /> <br /> <br />
