Bill 9001 — An ordinance amending Chapter 8.12 of the University City Municipal <br />Code relating to solid waste management fees. <br />Mr. Price moved for approval and was seconded by Mr. Wagner. <br />CITIZEN COMMENTS <br />Elsie Glickert, 6712 Etzel <br />Ms. Glickert stated the refuse collection charges were inequitable. She compared a <br />charge of $6.36 a month for boxes shared with three families to a box in her <br />neighborhood that is share by nine families for approximately $13. Ms. Glickert felt <br />the City was making an unfair profit on them. She requested roll-out carts that can <br />be picked up in the alley. Ms. Glickert said as it is now, they are plagued with <br />discarded mattresses, furniture, tires, etc. <br />Mr. Wagner requested the City Manager to look into Ms. Glickert’s claims and supply <br />a rationale for the pricing and provide it to the City Council and Ms. Glickert. <br />Mr. Sharpe, Jr. also asked the City Manager to re-evaluate if roll-out carts can be <br />utilized in Ms. Glickert’s area. <br />Roll Call Vote <br />AYES: Mr. Price, Ms. Ricci, Mr. Wagner, Mr. Sharpe, Jr., and Mayor Adams <br />NAY: none <br />Mayor Adams asked the City Manager to look into whether there are refuse trucks <br />that can maneuver better in the University City alleys. <br /> <br />
