CITY MANAGER’S REPORT
1. FEMA did announce the State of Emergency disaster for the flooding in
University City. Ms. Feier stated the City was making many attempts at informing
the citizens of the announcement by FEMA. FEMA assessors were looking over
property that had completed the necessary paper work. FEMA representatives
will be at Centennial Commons, Century Room 2 for approximately one month.
University City will also serve as the center for the surrounding region. The City
needs to continue to proceed to talk with their legislators on receiving any grants,
in order for the City to recoup money lost from damages caused from the flood
and for any long term solutions. City Manager will be proceeding with pursuing
grants, talking to the Corp. of Engineers, buy-outs, and SEMA which are all
separate from what FEMA was presently doing.

Mr. Price asked the City Manager to cross-reference her list of flood victims with
the list he had. He also wanted to be sure that just because FEMA is present,
the City will continue to pursue their issues with MSD.

Mr. Sharpe, Jr. asked that all flood victims be able to have assistance in filling out
forms that FEMA requested. Ms. Feier said that computers were set up in
Centennial Commons and staff was available to assist them. Ms. Ricci moved that Council/City
write MSD a letter requesting this information, reinstating the City’s position on
MSD’s responsibility to University City. Mr. Glickert seconded the motion and
was approved unanimously.

CITIZEN COMMENTS
Fareedah Sidqui, 6905 Roberts Ave.
Ms. Sidqui stated that anyone flooded living on Roberts Ave. never received door
hangers, letters etc. from the City.

2.
