Session 1718, Minutes
March 30, 1998

to expand. Mr. Barron proceeded in his presentation to point out particulars of the
conditions of the development and how they would help obscure and buffer the new
expansion from the surrounding neighborhoods, as well as the tax benefits to the City.
Mr. Barron presented a petition of supporters of the Gatesworth expansion.

Mr. Fred Rogerson, 8681 W. Kingsbury, wished to voice his support for the Gatesworth.
They purchased his home at 8649 W. Kingsbury and gave him a larger house up the
street. He believes they have been good neighbors and does not have a problem with
this expansion.

Ms. Sandy Vineyard, 8653 W. Kingsbury, wished to voice her support for the
Gatesworth expansion. They purchased her house and treated them more than fairly.
In the past, she had a serious problem with the Gatesworth. They were more than
compassionate and took care of the problem. They have been good neighbors.

Ms. Gigi Reiling, 8651 Barby Ln., wished to voice her opposition to the Gatesworth
expansion. She had concerns about the construction traffic and parking that will
overflow onto Barby Ln. She felt that the Gatesworth should be required to have on site
emergency vehicles as there has been increased emergency vehicle traffic in the area.
The area is very difficult to get to.

Mr. Stephen Leonard, 7233 Balson, wished to voice his support for the Gatesworth. He
and family has lived here thirteen years and his children attend the University City
public schools. The 1986 Comprehensive Plan allowed for this type of expansion. The
seniors are an ever expanding population base and deserve top quality care. The
taxes are very important to the City.

Ms. Kathryn Seidel, One McKnight Place, wished to voice her support for the
Gatesworth expansion. She has lived in University City for forty six years and her
children went through the schools. When it was time to move, she picked a first floor
apartment at the Gatesworth.

Ms. Sally Boyd, wished to voice her support for the Gatesworth. She has lived at the
Gatesworth since last November. She had lived sixteen years in University City. She
wanted the Council to know that the Gatesworth had always been warm and kind to her
and her husband.

Ms. Catalina Jamieson, #1 McKnight Place, wished to voice her support for the
Gatesworth expansion. She waited three and a half years to get her apartment, where
she resides today. The Gatesworth has offered her community as well as extended
family.
