Session 1720, Minutes April 20, 1998 AGENDA #1 - PUBLIC WORKS COMPUTER SYSTEM UPDATE: Mr. Ollendorff recommended a transfer of $32,300 from the capital improvement reserves to the Public Works computer budget. A recent analysis indicates that the present system is outmoded. It appears that replacement is a better option than upgrading the old computers. The transfer of funds at this time will allow this system to be included in the current implementation of our internal computer network. Bids will be received for City Council review before the end of the current fiscal year. Mr. Sharpe moved approval of the transfer. Mr. Schoomer seconded the motion, which carried unanimously. AGENDA #2: PICNIC LIQUOR LICENSE - COCA AT WASHINGTON/TRINITY: Mr. Ollendorff said that the St. Louis Women's Chorus, a University City organization, requests approval of a picnic liquor license to sell beer, wine and mixed drinks at a special event at COCA on May 2, 1998. Approval is recommended since similar licenses have not resulted in any problems. Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Sharpe seconded the motion. Mr. Lieberman stated that he felt that mixed drinks was unnecessary and could introduce an unwanted element. Beer and wine are sufficient at these events and therefore will oppose this. All voted Aye, except Mr. Lieberman, who voted Nay. The motion passed three to one. AGENDA #3 - 12 COMPUTER WORKSTATIONS, PRINTERS, AND SOFTWARE FOR VARIOUS DEPARTMENTS: Mr. Ollendorff said that quotations have been received to purchase equipment for a new computer networking system linking the Departments of Planning, Parks, Public Works and the Traffic Violations Bureau. Other Departments will be added later. The next step is the cabling and modem lines.
