BILL NO 8740 - AMENDING CHAPTER 10.36 OF THE MUNICIPAL CODE, <br />RELATING TO REGULATIONS FOR SPECIFIC STREETS, BY REPEALING <br />SECTION 10.36.150, RELATIING TO LEFT TURNS PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN <br />STREETS AT ALL TIMES OR DURING DESIGNATED HOURS, AND ENACTING <br />IN LIEU THEREOF A NEW SECTION TO BE KNOWN AS SECTION 10.36.150 <br />LEFT TURNS PROHIBITED ON CERTAIN STREETS AT ALL TIMES OR DURING <br />DESIGNATED HOURS," THEREBY AMENDING SAID SECTION SO AS TO <br />PROHIBIT LEFT TURNS BY NORTHBOUND VEHICLES ON THE EAST LEG OF <br />TRINITY AVE. AT DELMAR BLVD BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 7:00 A.M. AND <br />9:00 A.M. AND BETWEEN THE HOURS OF 4:00 P.M. AND 6:00 P.M. ON ALL <br />DAYS EXCEPT SATURDAYS, SUNDAYS AND HOLIDAYS; CONTAINING A <br />SAVINGS CLAUSE AND PROVIDING A PENALTY. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff suggested that this Bill not be given its third reading and that it be held <br />over. He suggested a second reading and holding it over for public comment. <br /> <br />The Bill was given its second reading. <br /> <br />Michael A. Jurries, 6616 Pershing Avenue and a trustee of Ames Place Subdivision <br />came to say the Subdivision is against this provision because it is difficult to exit the <br />Neighborhood. He asked for a lengthened left-turn arrow to enable cars turning <br />because there are so few exits and limited access all ready. He suggested approaching <br />the County of St. Louis to help solve the problem. <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff said he would meet with the County and report back upon the response <br />to the Council. <br /> Page 16 <br /> <br /> <br />
