The City ~ianager replied negatively. Councilman Stake <br />moved that a public heariDg be scheduled for February 15, 1960, at 8 o'clock <br />P.11. on both agenda items 3 and 4. Motion seconded by Councilman Soule. <br /> <br />At this juncture, Mayor Kaufman requested the City Manager to comment on <br />agenda item number 4. <br /> <br />Mayor Kaufman suggested that although he does not believe there will be any <br />objections, in the event there is an objection on any one of these items, <br />it may be well to vote on these items independently. <br /> <br />Councilman Stake suggested that all members of the Traffic Commission be <br />notified of the public hearing and invited to be present. <br /> <br />Councilman Stake called for the question. Councilman Soule suggested that <br />there are sorae schools and churches which may abut on some of these properties <br />and he said he thinks they should be notified as well as trustees of the <br />subdivisions affected and the University City Chamber of Commerce. Mayor <br />Kaufman stated that a list of PTA organizations and trustees is available, <br />but it would be very difficult to attempt to notify all property owners on <br />HcKnight Road from Delmar Boulevard to Olive Boulevard because of the apart- <br />ments. <br /> <br />Upon vote, the motion was unanimously carried. <br /> <br />REPORT OF TRAFFIC COPR4ISSION ON CONGESTED DISTRICTS: <br />Agenda item number 4 was a report from the Traffic Commission, dated <br />January 21, 1960, recommending amendments to the Municipal Code of 1950, <br />extending or deleting certain congested districts, as follows: <br /> <br />Designated congested districts to be eliminated: <br /> Bartmer Avenue from the Eastern City Limits to Sutter Avenue <br /> Big Bend Boulevard from north side of alley north of Pershing <br /> Avenue to Westmoreland Drive <br /> Olive Boulevard from a point 500 feet east of North & South <br /> Boulevard (south) to a point 500 feet west of North & South <br /> Boulevard (north) <br /> Olive Boulevard from Ferguson Avenue to the easterly city limits <br /> <br />Designated congested districts to remain: <br /> Forsyth Boulevard from the western city limits to Manhattan Avenue <br /> Delmar Boulevard from the east line of Big Bend Boulevard to the <br /> easterly City Limits <br /> <br />At the request of Mayor Kaufman, this matter was reviewed by the City Manager. <br />The City Manager recommended that action be taken as soon as possible in <br />having a public hearing on t.~s matter, or, if the Council so desires, to <br />have the appropriate ordinances prepared. <br /> <br />Councilman Stake moved that a public hearing be set for February 15, 1960, <br />at 8 o'clock P.M. Motion seconded by Councilman Baris, and unanimously <br />carried. <br /> <br /> <br />
