Councilman ¥~erner then moved that 2 Police Officers be added and
at the same time two Police Cadets ba eliminated. ~tion was seconded by
Councilman Grimm. l.~r. Ellman explained this would mean an additional cost
of approximately $10,000 in the budget in the 2010 Account. Upon vote, all
members of the Council voted AYE with the exception of Councilman Ueissen-
burger~ who voted t~AY. The motion carried.

In consideration of the total size of the Budget, the City l-[anager recom-
mended that an additional $15,000 should be placed in the Contingency Ap-
propriation Account No. 6010.1. Councilman Lieberman moved approval. ~e
motion was seconded by Councilman Grimm and unanimously carried.

Councilman Glickert moved that the Residency Allowance be increased by $20
a month, to a total of $80. I~yor Kaufman observed that the administrative
forces have been requested to prepare some statistics on this for the
Council's consideration. Councilman Uerner said he would like to see the
I~ayor's suggestion of a study to be made, following which a decision can be
made by the Council. I~. Ellman suggested that another $10,000 be put in
the Contingency Fund for this. Councilman Glickert moved that an additional
$10~000 be added to the Contingency Fund. !lotion was seconded by Council-
man Lieberman. Upon vote, all members voted AYE with the excepticn of
Councilman Weissenburger who voted NAY° The motion therefore carried.

Following discussion: Councilman Glickert said she feels that two changes
should be effected: one would provide for additional stenographic service
in the Human Resources Department, totaling $310 for Account 1013-2 and
also, $250 should be placed in the Council account 1010-2 to supplement
the advertising program of the City. She moved accordingly. ~.~tion was
seconded by Councilman Werner and unanimously carried.

City I~nager Ilenry stated that because the number of issues of the Community
Newspaper had been increased, there should be an adjustment in the compensa-
tion for ~Ir.
