Session 868, I-~nutes <br />June 19, 1967 <br /> <br />Page 5 <br /> <br />APPLICATION OF ~. ALLEN hO~{ (ROTH DRUG CO~,~ANY, INC.) FOR LICENSE TO <br />SELL 5% BEER: <br /> <br />City t~fanager Henry stated that an application has been received from <br />Mr. Allen Roth, president of Roth Drug Company, Inc., d/b/a/ Forsyth <br />Drug, 7337 Forsyth, for a license to sell 5% beer, by the package at <br />retail. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry by the City Manager whether the applicant is present, there <br />was no response, and City Manager Henry suggested he doesn't think the <br />Council ought to proceed on this if Mr. Roth is not present. ~yor Kauf- <br />man stated the matter will be postponed. <br /> <br />APPLICATION OF KROGER STORE FOR LICENSE TO SELL ALL KINDS OF INTOXICATING <br />LIQUOR; <br /> <br />City ~,~nager Henry stated that an application has been received from ~ir. <br />William H. Verser, Managing Officer of the Kroger Company, a corporation, <br />for a license to sell all kinds of intoxicating liquor, by the package, <br />at retail, at the new Kroger store located at 7270 Olive Boulevard. <br /> <br />Upon inquiry by the City Manager whether the applicant is present, there <br />was no response, and City Manager Henry suggested he doesn't think the <br />Council ought to proceed on this if Mr. Verser, or a representative, is <br />not present. ~yor Kaufman stated the matter will be postponed. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR SUPPLYING SALT: <br />City ~anager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for the <br />furnishing of the City's salt requirements for the 1967-68 winter season; <br />these are estimated at 1000 tons of bulk salt and 60 tons of bag salt. <br />He said it is the recommendation of the administrative forces that con- <br />tract be awarded to Gunther Salt Company on the following basis: -- <br /> <br /> Bulk 100# Bags <br />1000 Tons 60 Tons <br /> <br />$9.85 $9,a50.00 $16.50 $990.00 <br /> <br />--this being the lowest and best bid. <br /> <br />Councilman Epstein moved that the recommendation of the administrative <br />forces be approved and that contract be awarded to the Gunther Salt <br />Company as outlined above~ this being the lowest and best bid. Motion <br />seconded by Councilman Woods and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR SUPPLYING TRAP. ROCK: <br />The City Manager stated that bids have been received from Breckenridge <br />~{aterial Company for the furnishing of its trap rock requirements for <br />the year ending June 30, 1967~ this is the only known company in the <br />area that can furnish trap rock. Estimated requirements for the year <br />will be 800 tons and Breckenridge ~laterial Company submitted a price of <br />$6.50 per ton. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Epstein moved that contract be <br />awarded to the Breckenridge ~terial Company for 800 tons of trap rock <br /> <br /> <br />
