Motion <br />seconded by Councilman Woods and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR SUPPLYI~G ASP}hkLT: <br />The City Manager stated that the City has received bid proposals for the <br />furnishing of its asphaltic concrete mixture requirements for the next <br />fiscal year. He said that the bid invitation stipulated that the sup- <br />plier of this material must be located not more than two miles from the <br />city limits and although five known suppliers within this radius were <br />contacted, only two responded. ~e said the City's requirements this <br />year are estimated to total 500 tons. The administrative forces recom- <br />mended that the contract be awarded to the Granite Bituminous Paving <br />Company on the basis of $6.20 per ton, this being the lowest and best <br />bid. <br /> <br />Following brief discussiou, Councilman Lieberman moved that the recommenda- <br />tion of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be award- <br />ed to the Granite Bituminous Paving Company for asphaltic concrete mixture <br />in the amount of $6.20 per ton, this being the lowest and best bid. The <br />motion was seconded by Councilman ~oods and unanimously carried. <br /> <br />BID PROPOSALS FOR RESURFACING GANMON AVENUE, WARDER AVF~UE ANO SI, L~LL <br />SECTION OF ALLEY: <br /> <br />City Manager Henry stated that bid proposals have been received for re- <br />surfacing Gannon Avenue from Jackson Avenue to Hanley Road, Warder Avenue <br />from Delmar Boulevard to Lafon Place, and the north and south alley east <br />of Leland, known as Project No. 576A. The administrative forces recom- <br />mended that the contract be awarded to Granite Bituminous Paving Company <br />in the amount of $8,228.98, this being the lowest and best bid. <br /> <br />The City Manager reviewed the matter and answered questions. <br /> <br />Following brief discussion, Councilman Woods moved that the recommenda- <br />tion of the administrative forces be approved and that contract be award- <br />ed to the Granite Bituminous Paving Company in the amount of $8,228.98, <br />this being the lowest and best bid. Baumann Construction Company <br />in the amount of $5,040.30, this being the lowest and best bid.
