Session 1939
November 15, 2004

Mayor Adams thanked the three new members for their service to the City.

CONSENT CALENDAR

Mayor Adams said the first item on the Consent Calendar would be removed for further
discussion. Then Mr. Ollendorff said he recommended approval of the Consent
Calendar except for the item relating to the recreation club fees which follows because it
will be discussed separately.

Recreation Club Fees

The City Manager concurred with the Park Commission recommendation of a $10.00
per week per child fee for the after school recreation club program with scholarships at
33% and 66% for eligible youth. Approval of this item was held over by Council pending
a report on scholarship grants which has been distributed to City Council.

This item was removed for discussion.

The City Manager said the calendar includes:

Sidewalk Repair Contract Addition

Mr. Ollendorff recommended adding an amount not to exceed $50,000 to the previously
awarded sidewalk and curb repair contract of $450,000 with Midwest Mudjacking, Inc.
This amount is available in the budget and is needed for urgent curb and sidewalk
repairs not included in the initial contract. The added amount was held back last
summer until such time as we could report that adequate funds were available.

Recreation Facility Change Order

Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of change orders adding additional electric power
outlets in the soccer area and additional sleeves for volleyball standards in the gym at a
total added cost of $4,500.

Setting Public Hearinq On Rezoninq 965 Midland and 7201 Balson

The City Manager recommended setting December 6 at 7:30 p.m. in these Council
Chambers as the time and place for a public hearing on the recommended rezoning of
965 Midland from a "SR" single family to "PA" public activity and rezoning 7201 Balson
from limited commercial to public activity. The rezoning is recommended unanimously
by the Plan Commission so that the property can be utilized for construction of a high
quality ten-unit condominium development.

He noted that this item was stated incorrectly. It should be for "planned development"
Page 2
