Regular Meeting <br />January 31,2005 <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch asked if Mr. Nickels would take the oath of office this evening to serve on <br />the CALOP Commission and was advised by the City Clerk that he was already sworn <br />in. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked new members of the Boards and Commissions and commented <br />upon the importance of their service to the City. <br /> <br />CONFIRMATION OF MEMBERS ELECTED TO U CITY LOOP SPECIAL BUSINESS <br /> <br />DISTRICT <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that the following new members were elected to the <br />University City Loop Special Business District at their January 2005 meeting. They are: <br />Mike Hobbs from The Melting Pot, Michele Racanelli's Pizza and B.V. Burger Joint, and <br />Dave Salvato from Salvato's Caf~ and Deli Market. <br /> <br />NEW MEMBER OF PARKVIEW GARDENS SPECIAL BUSINESS DISTRICT <br /> <br />Mayor Adams announced that Hollis Heyn is a new member of the Parkview Gardens <br />Special Business District. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner moved approval of four persons just named to the two special business <br />districts, Mr. Sharpe seconded and the motion passed unanimously. <br /> <br />Agenda item # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff stated that several items were removed from the Consent Calendar for <br />the purpose of further discussion, leaving only two items. Those two items remaining <br />are 1 purchase of refuse carts and 2) purchase of police vehicles. <br /> <br />95-Gallon Refuse Carts <br /> <br />Bids have been received for 850 roll-out carts. $33,150 was budgeted for the <br />requirement. Five companies were invited to submit bids. The following responses <br />were received: <br /> <br />Company Name <br />Otto Environmental Systems <br />Downing Sales & Service, Inc. <br />Rehrig Pacific Company <br />Toter, Inc. <br /> <br />Total <br />$34,229.50 <br />$35,275.00 <br />$33,150.00 <br />$39,678.00 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff requested the bid be awarded to Rehrig Pacific for the Iow bid of $33,150. <br /> <br />Page 2 <br /> <br /> <br />
