Invitations to bid on stripping, refelting, <br />and asphal ting the Heman Pool bathhouse roof were sent to 10 roofing contrac- <br />tors, with only one response: <br /> <br />Doyel and Company, Inc. (female-owned) $17,840 <br /> <br />This company satisfactorily roofed the concession stand. It was reconunended <br />that their bid be accepted. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval of the Consent Calendar. Mr. Schoomer seconded the <br />motion, which carried unanimoUSly. <br /> <br />UNIVERSITY PLACE PIAT AMENI:MENT <br /> <br />The City Manager concurred with the Plan Commission recommendation to approve <br />the revised subdivision plat of lots 96, 97, and 98 of University Place. The <br />change is necessary due to the grade of the land, requiring that the homes be <br />moved fo:rward on the lots. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval, with Mr. Schoomer seconding the motion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schmnan wished to know how the develOPer decided the adjacent historic <br />oak tree would not be banned by this c1lan;Je. It was pointed out that the <br />house on lDt 96 was already built and if there was damage, it has already <br />occurred. Mr. Sc'.hoomer noted that the City Manager earlier relayed Council's <br />concern for this tree, and he did not believe the developer would endanger it. <br />Mr. Ollendorff said the Plan Conunission apparently decided this change would <br />not ham the treE~, but he did not know how they reached that conclusion. <br /> <br />*Mr. Price arri VEld at this time. <br /> <br />After further discussion, a roll call vote was taken. Those voting Aye were <br />C01.ll1cilmembers Adams, Schoorner, Price, and Mayor Majerus; those voting Nay <br />were Councilmembers Wagner, Schmnan, and Thorrpson. The motion carried by a <br />vote of four to three. <br />
