session 1554, Minutes
October 7, 1991

Page 4

RESUBDIVIsrON - 7300-02 SHAFTESEURY

'!he city Manager agreed with the Plan CoImnission' s recommendation to approve
resubdividing the double lot on the southwest comer of Shaftesbury and Pur-
due, resulting in 50-foot lots that are compatible with others in the area.

Mrs. Schuman askerl what will happen to the garage on the east half of the lot.
Mr. Michael Fox, 7777 Bonhonune, said it was :rrost likely the garage will re-
main on the vacant lot it is on, where a new home will presumably be built.

Mr. Schoomer moved approval. Mr. Adams seconded the nDtion, which carried
unanimously.

SITE PlAN RE.VIEW - 6240 OLIVE

'!he City Manager recOImlleI1ded denial of a site plan application for 6240 Olive
in the Skinker-olive Business Park, noting that while the use is desirable,
the layout is not:. He said thl~ applicant should be encouraged to revise the
application to include architectural drawings, a more detailed site develop-
ment plan (including landscaping), and a description of exterior building ma-
terials and color selections, and signs on the site.

Mrs. '!hampson moved to table this matter. Mr. Price seconded the motion, and
all voted Aye except Mrs. Schuman, who voted Nay.

EOOIIMENT roRClIASFS

'!he City Manager said it was known at budget time that a replacement oil dis-
tributor for strE~t sealcoating and an additional loader to collect antici-
pated increased quantities of leaves were needed, but funds were not avail-
able. Now, because of lower than anticipated prices on several items, money
to purchase the following items has become available:

CUmmings, McGowan & West, 1979 Rosco distributor $14,700
(negotiated price for used equipment)
Hennessey-Forrestal, 1991 Ford New Holland leaf loader $21,972
(same bid price accepted by Council in August for one loader)

Money is available from a lower-than-expected price for the first leaf loader
($10,500); rollout carts and other refuse containers are less than estimated
($22,000); and street repair ma.terials are less than budgeted ($4,300). Ap-
proval was reconurended.

Mr. Schoomer movl:!d approval, and Mr. Adams secon:led the motion. All voted
Aye.

Resporrling to Mrs. '!hampson, Nr. Ollen:lorff said the City was not aware of
any minority/female supplier for this kin:l of equipnent. He said a corrplete
listing of minority and female-owned businesses was kept by the City.

'!he City Manager asked that another item be added to the agen:la. Mr. Adams
so moved, secon:led by Mr. Schocl1'l1er. All voted Aye.
