Klein, 8055 Teasdale, president of Agudas Israel, said the only <br />reason the rooftop screening was not finished. was to be certain it was being <br />done the way Council wanted., and it will be completed. within seven days. As <br />for the buffer between the site and the neighbo:rhood, he said the synagogue <br />erred. in its selection of the individual who cut down so much of this screen- <br />ing, am was very sony about this. He apologized to the residents, adding <br />that the individual involved acted far beyorrl the scope of his assigrnnent. <br />Mr. Klein said the City Forester assured him that with decent weather the fo- <br />liage should grow back by next spring am be close to its previous corrlition. <br /> <br />Mr. Joseph Corrigan, 569 Mapleview, said he bought his house in April, 1991, <br />in what was then a quiet, private neighbo:rhood; ncM, with the buffering gone, <br />it is extremely noisy and visually polluted., and trash blows from the commer- <br />cial area into the neighbo:rhood. He said the new plantings will take much <br />more than a year to grow into a real barrier, am he suggested. a fence should <br />be erected.. He also agreed there should be a meeting with all involved. to <br />establish property lines and a privacy barrier. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said it seemed that the landscaping issue has not been solved to <br />everyone's satisfaction and he felt it would be an error in judgment not to <br />include this new problem in the corrlitional use pennit. Mayor Majeros said <br />all the corrlitions of the original application have been fulfilled., am the <br />new problems of additional larrlscaping am use of the tent are still to be <br />considered.. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked the purpose of the ten foot poles. Mr. Klein said it was <br />religious in nature, and the poles are allowed. to seJ:Ve as a fence, which is <br />required. before food can be taken outside on the Jewish Sabbath. <br /> <br />All voted. Aye. Mayor Majeros suggested. that the meeting discussed earlier <br />take place within the seven day period referred to in the motion. <br /> <br />SITE PIAN - 8000 BRIAR o:xJRl' <br /> <br />'!he City Manager recommerrled. denial of a site plan for a secorrl-story addi- <br />tion to a single family home a1: 8000 Briar Court. He said the City ordinance <br />states approval should be given only if the addition will be compatible with <br />surroundirg homes; in this casE~, only one-story ranch homes of s:i1ni.lar design <br />are on this block, and the new addition would be completely incorrpatible. <br /> <br />Mrs. 'Ihampson said she urrlerstood this addition would not make this home in- <br />compatible with others on the block, am she asked the owner to come forward. <br /> <br />Ms. lDrraine Rid1al:'dson, 8000 Briar Court, said there were many homes in the <br />surroundirg area with additions, even though hers would be the first on this <br />block. She needed more space, but liked the area am did not want to move. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said a number of sul:xlivisions have homes with added secorrl stories, <br />
