SITE PIAN AMENIMENT - EUROPEAN c.AFFE, 628 NORIH AND scmH ROAD '!he city Manager rec::ommerrled tablirq of an application for a site plan amend- ment pennitting a new deck area for outdoor di.nirq, pending submission of a clarified plan. '!he City is not opposed to the proposal, but the present plan is not compatible with adjacent properties nor does it clarify pedestri- an traffic, maintenance standards, or seating/service arrangements. Mr. Wagner noved that this matter be tabled, and Mrs. '!hampson seconded the motion. It was noted that the applicant was present and wished to speak; Mr. Wagner am Mrs. '!hampson withdrew their IrOtions. Mr. David Weaver, 7456 Amherst, said the restaurant currently has pennission for cutdoor dining, and the new plan will use less space than it does now. '!he deck is needed because the sidewalk is slanted, and it will be used only during the wann months. He said if Council is considering approval , it is :i.npxtant that it be given now, because delay means the deck cannot be built until too late in the season to be of use this year. In response to Mr. Adams, Mr. Ollerrlorff said the city was asking for a nore attractive design that fit better with the building and neighborhood, showed how the deck may be cleaned aOOve am belCM, where the tables will be, etc. He said the existing drawings are not complete enough, and the city wanted to see a BOre professional approach. Mr. Weaver said a one-year approval would be fine since he was currently discussirq a permanent building addition with the CMl'1erS that will be built next year, if approved. Mrs. 'lhaupson asked if it would be appropriate to approve this pending the city staff being directed to ensure that all specifications are met to the city's satisfaction.
