A final plan of seating layout, drawn to scale, shall be submitted to the <br />Director of Planning for his review and approval. The plan shall detail <br />appropriate exit access aisles in accordance with the requirements of the <br />University City Building Code. <br />5. This pennit indicating the city Council's approval of site Plan Review <br />#1245 is limited to Mrs. Albertine 'Ihompson doing business as Bar Jamaica <br />Jerk pit. Operation of any other restaurant or bar or operation by a <br />different proprietor will cause this pennit to becc:Ine null and void. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Adams, Mr. Ollendorff said the parking lot has 231 SPaces, <br />and he thought there were several other businesses in the Center that have <br />evening hours. If the expansion is approved, the city Code requires that 110 <br />of the SPaces be alloted to this business. <br /> <br />The proprietor, Mrs. Albertine Thompson, 12497 Meadow Green Place, said she <br />was surprised at some of the conunents in the reconunendation regarding litter, <br />noise, etc. She said she has been in business over seven years and her busi- <br />nesses have been clean and well-nm. Most of the Center businesses close by <br />8 p.m. and do not need the parking, she said. Also, there would be only oc- <br />casional entertairnnent, and she would not tolerate loud or rowa.y customers. <br />She wants to nm a fine restaurant with good food that people can enjoy. <br /> <br />Councilmernber Thompson said she did not believe this restaurant will cause <br />the kinds of problems suggested, and she felt the operator should be given an <br />opportunity to expand her business. <br /> <br />Mr. Price agreed, and moved approval of the site plan amendment for the Bar <br />Jamaica, 7828 Olive, with all conditions. Mrs. 'Ihompson seconded the motion. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman said Mrs. A. Thompson had convinced her that she would nm a <br />good establishment and could maintain control. <br /> <br />Mr. Price said the city should have recognized Mrs. 'Ihompson's expertise in <br />nmning other restaurants, and some of the issues should not have been raised <br /> <br />All voted Aye. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer returned to the Council chamber. <br /> <br />SITE PIAN AMENrMENl' - 7711 OLIVE STREEI' ROAD <br /> <br />The City Manager recommended approval of an amendment to site Plan #1209 that <br />would specify tree planting and parking area improvements that are required. <br />for the business at this location. All work should be completed. this Spring <br />in accordance with the plan dated. February 19, 1991.. <br /> <br />Mrs. Schuman moved approval, with Mr. Schoomer seconding the motion. <br /> <br />Mr. Wagner asked why this plan specifies a reduction in planting, and Mr. 01- <br />lendorff said the owner convinced the staff there is not enough room for the <br />larger landscaped. area that the City would like because delivery trucks must <br />enter and exit the property. <br />
