NAYS: Councilmembers Price, Adams, Schmnan, and Thompson. The m0-
tion failed four to three. Mr. Adams asked that Council be given a statement
prior to the next meetirYJ outlinirYJ why Hi -Ranger Midwest is the best bidder.

roBLIC HEARING - STREET VACATION. 8637 WEST KINGSmRY

The city Manager said a public hearirYJ was set for this time and place for
comments on the proPOSed vacatirYJ of 50 feet of West Kingsbury at this ad-
dress. The right-of-way is a dead end that can be better used by the adja-
cent property for landscapirYJ arourxi One McKnight Place. After the public
hearirYJ, Council may wish to request preparation of an appropriate bill.

Mayor Majerus opened the public hearirYJ at 8:01 p.m.

Mrs. Ruth Bennan, 8640 West Kingsbury, said her once-beautiful street is now
overshadowed by One McKnight. She asked that several concen1S be addressed--
not enough parkirYJ (especially when she has guests), irYJress and egress for
fire tnIcks, location of stom sewers, and a convenient place for her refuse
container. She was also concen1ed about snow removal. Mayor Maj erus said
the City Manager would get in touch with Mrs. Bennan to discuss these items.

The Mayor closed the public hearirYJ at 8:06 p.m.

All agreed that a bill should be drafted to vacate the subject property.

SITE PIAN - RESTAURANI'. 8501 DEIMAR

The City Manager recornrnerrled approval of a site plan for a restaurant at 8501
Delmar, subject to conditions limitirYJ seatirYJ to 20 due to inadequate park-
irYJ, and a requirement that any major change in operation will need resubmis-
sion and action by the City Council. 'Ibis site housed a restaurant for many
years but not in the past year, thus requirirYJ Council action. All previous
conditions applyirYJ to the restaurant will remain in place.

Mr. David Grider, 8505 Delmar, property manager for the shoppirYJ center in
which the proPOSed restaurant is located, showed drawirYJs of the site includ-
irYJ parkirYJ. He asked that a total of 48 seats be allowed, since adequate
parkirYJ is available in the nearl:>y shoppirYJ center lot.

Mrs. Schmnan said parkirYJ durirYJ the day was very tight at the end of the lot
near the restaurant. RespondirYJ to Mr. Adams, Mr. Grider said the restaurant
hours were 11 a.m. - 3 p.m., and 5 p.m. - 10 p.m.; SUnday 12 noon to 9 p.m.
He said there were more than 200 spaces in the parkirYJlot, but it was noted
this lot is not directly adjacent to the restaurant and there was concern pa-
trons might park next to nearby homes. It was pointed out that the drive in
front of the restaurant is one-way toward the lot, so if parkirYJ is not
available in front of the restaurant, it would be more convenient to park in
the lot than drive back out onto Delmar and then onto the side street.

Mr. Price IOCNed approval of the site plan at 8501 Delmar, but increasirYJ the
mnnber of seats to 30. Mrs. Schmnan seconded the motion, and all voted Aye.
