Mr. Ollerrlorff <br />said Mr. Wagner advised him that the Arts am Letters Commission felt more <br />members were needed in order to administer all the projects in which they are <br />currently involved, am that a more efficient OPeration would result from of- <br />ficers serving two-year instead of one-year tenns. Mr. Schcx::mer noved that <br />this bill be adopted as an ordinance. Mr. Price secorrled the IOOtion. Upon <br />roll call, the following vote was recorded: AYES: Council1nembers Price, <br />Schuman, Schcx::mer, 'Ihonpson, am Mayor Pro Tern Adams. NAYS: None. ABSENT: <br />Mayor Majerus am Councilmember Wagner. Bill No. 8057 became Ordinance No. <br />5846. <br /> <br />cn1MENI'S - WASHINGION UNIVERSI'IY S'IUDENT REPRESENTATIVE <br /> <br />Mr. Drew 'l\1lchin, 6623 Kingsbmy, Washington University liaison to University <br />City, said a new student representative will be atterrling the next Council <br />meeting. He spoke briefly about Ol1CJoing parking problems near the university <br />am said discussions will certainly continue into the next school year. He <br />also said 'Ihurtene carnival will be held April 11-12. <br /> <br />CITIZEN cn1MENI'S <br /> <br />Ms. Elve Allen, 1344 Mt. Olive, said the property next to hers (a comer lot) <br />was an unsightly junkyard, am that it was difficult even to have corrpany be- <br />cause the property was such a mess, with debris am trash allover. She <br />asked the City to cite the property ~ am ensure that the property is <br />cleaned up. <br /> <br />Ms. Janice Whitfield, 8375 Richard, said a crosswalk next to her home is <br />causing neighl:x>:rl100d problems, am she wished to knc:M how to get it closed. <br />Mr. Ollerrlorff advised Ms. Whitfield to ask the neighl:x>rs adjoining the <br />crosswalk to sign a letter requesting that it be closed am present it to the <br />City Manager. A public hearing will be held, am if all agree, the property <br />will be then divided amol1CJ the adjacent a-mers. <br /> <br />OXJNCIIMEMBER cn1MENI'S <br /> <br />Mr. Price, recalling that one of the subjects c'Iic::t"'l.1SSEd during the recent <br />City Council-School Board meeting was graffiti, asked Mayor Pro Tern Adams to <br />contact the School Board president to see what the District is currently do- <br />ing in this area. Also, he was extremely upset to firrl graffiti defacing a <br />beautiful new church that is being built on Fullerton Avenue. He said <br />parents am children should be prosecuted to the fullest extent possible to <br />
