He thanked the Coun- <br />cil for continuing to allow student representation, noting there were many <br />issues that affect both the City arrl University arrl that comrmmication lines <br />must be kept oPen. He mentioned three areas he felt were inqx>rtant--student <br />parking, security, and recycling. Mayor Majerus said she was very pleased <br />there was again a liaison between the city arrl the university arrl she hoped <br />some goals would be readled before Mr. 'I\1lchin graduates in May. <br /> <br />ANNCUNCEMENT <br /> <br />Mayor Majerus said she was delighted to announce that the University City Li- <br />brary today made the final payment ($102,000) on a loan from the city that <br />was used for renovation arrl to set up their computer system. '!here was a <br />round of applause. <br /> <br />CITY MANAGER'S REFORIS <br /> <br />CX>NSENT CAI.ENI).lffi. (RXJR I'I'EKS) <br /> <br />Consideration of Bids for Asbestos Removal (#1). Bids were received for re- <br />moval of asbestos arrl optional reinsulation of piPes, if needed, in six City <br />buildings. Because the various piPes arrl fittings noted do not require rein- <br />sulation, Corvera Abatement Technologies, Inc. was the lowest bidder. '!he <br />company's bid of $22,813 was reduced to $22,435 after an additional deduction <br />of $378 was given for complete removal rather than replacement of the over- <br />head steam line at Central Garage whidl, because the heating system has been <br />replaced, is no longer needed. Acceptance of the $22,435 bid from Corvera is <br />reconunended. <br /> <br />Bids for Refuse Containers arrl Lids (#2).
