<br />Session 1562, Minutes <br />January 27, 1992 <br /> <br />Page 4 <br /> <br />SOLICITATION PERMIT RroJEST-MISSOJRI GRCXJP 'IO ALlEVIATE SIDKING FOUlJTION <br /> <br />'!he City Manager said the Missouri Group to Alleviate Slroki.rq IUllution, Inc. <br />(GASP) has applied for its first pennit to solicit in university City, from <br />March 16 to April 3, 1992. '!he group will sen:i five to ten of its members <br />door-to-door in accordance with City roles, to harrl out literature and ask <br />for contributions and signatures in support of its goal of alleviating indoor <br />air pollution caused by burning tobacco. <br /> <br />Mr. Price moved approval, and Mr. Schoomer seconded the notion. <br /> <br />Responding to Mr. Wagner, Mr. Ollen::lorff said he knew of no complaints from <br />other connnunities about this organization. <br /> <br />Mr. Schoomer asked if identification of percentages of distribution of funds <br />was required on the permit. Mr. Ollen::lorff said he believed so, but he would <br />find out tomorrcM and let Mr. Schoorner knc:M. <br /> <br />Mayor Maj eros suggested perhaps this should be postponed to the next meeting, <br />after councilmembers have had an opportunity to obtain answers to their ques- <br />tions about this group. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved to defer action on this matter until February 10. Mr. Wagner <br />seconded the notion, which carried unanllnously. Mr. Wagner asked that a rep- <br />resentative of GASP be present at that meeting. <br /> <br />CONDITIONAL USE - 6800 OLIVE/FERGUSON <br /> <br />'!he city Manager said the City Plan Commission approved adding beauty and <br />barber shop and shoe shine uses to the existing car wash business at 6800 <br />Olive, with the following conditions previously adopted by the council for <br />the automotive-related business: <br /> <br />1. Repair work shall be lilnited to "minor notor vehicle repair" as that tem <br />is defined in the Zoning Code; no body work or painting shall be permit- <br />ted at any time. <br />2. All activities involving minor rrotor vehicle repair and autom::>bile wash- <br />ing shall take place fully within the enclosed building. Vehicles shall <br />be wiped dry in the area immediately west of the building. <br />3. Wash water shall not be permitted to run on to adjacent property or <br />rights-of-way. <br />4. All vehicles on the property shall be parked indoors or within properly <br />marked stalls as indicated on the site plan. <br />5. No vehicles shall be parked or stored outdoors ovemight, and driveways <br />shall be chained closed during non-business hours. <br />6. Hours of operation shall be lilnited to 7 a.m. - 8 p.m., Monday through <br />Saturday and 7 a.m. - 4 p.m. on Sl.1rrlay. <br />7. '!he operator shall maintain the property's clean appearance with grass <br />properly cut, with litter and other debris reIrDVed. <br /> <br />Mr. Adams moved approval and Mr. Price seconded the notion. <br />
