Session 1560, Minutes
January 6, 1992

Page 5

hearirg is beirg held specifically to get input from neighborhood residents.

Mr. '!homas Iachajczyk, 7054 Lin::lell, agreed with the previous SPeakers who
are opPOSed to the proposed restrictions. He also worrlered where commercial
vehicles would park between 10 a.m. arrl. noon. He said if there was a parkirg
restriction at the east errl. of the block, the non-resident parkers would sim-
ply rrove their cars to the west, arrl. that another solution was needed.

Ms. Kristie Yeager, 7012 Forsyth (IW), said she was opPOSed to the restric-
tions because of the large number of residents who IlU.1St park their cars on
the south side of Forsyth. As one who works at night, she must leave her car
on the street durirg the day. She favored resident parkirg pennits.

Ms. Virginia Ryan Halloran, 7012 Forsyth (2E), agreed with the fonner speak-
ers. In addition, she asked that parkirg restrictions currently in effect on
the south side of Forsyth be rerroved, because she felt there was no need for
an extra lane of traffic durirg rush hour arrl. that COIlInllters were beirg ca-
tered to at the expense of residents. She also thought resident parkirg
stickers should be issued, to be in effect from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., to dis-
courage non-residents from parkirg on Forsyth.

Mrs. Schmran said she has received finn requests for reinstallirg signage re-
strictirg parkirg on Marylarrl. west of Big Berrl., up to arrl. includirg 7033 arrl.
7034; arrl. on Wesbnorelarrl. up to arrl. incll.lClir'g 7036 arrl. 7039. On Northmoor,
there were few responses to extendirg the current prohibition, arrl. she felt
that should be left as it is currently. Regarding Lin::le11, she believed most
at the western errl. of the 7000 block arrl. those on the 7100 block we,re opposed
to any parkirg restrictions, but there had seemed to be some support for re-
strictions up to 7030 arrl. 7031; however, in view of the earlier speakers, she
suggested no chang'es be made until there is consensus in the neighborhood as
to what, if anythirg, should be done. She also suggested that no changes be
made on Forsyth until there is neighborhood concurrence on an agreeable solu-
tion. No one objected to these recommen:1ations.

PERSONNEL REroRl'

'!he Personnel report for the week errl.irg January 4, 1992, was received arrl.
ordered filed.

BIT J ~ FOR 'lHIRD READING

BILL NO. 8042 - AMENDING OIAPI'ER 23 MUNICIPAL CODE REIATING 'IO OFFENSES-MIS-
CELlANEX)US BY ENACI'ING A NEW SECrION 'IO BE KNa'1N AS "SECrION 23-50.
