Regular Meeting February 14, 2005 on the Arts and Letters Commission, for a first term ending January 2, 2009, and Mr. Wagner seconded, passing unanimously. OATH OF OFFICE The City Clerk administered the oath of office to: Rosalyn Borg – Plan Commission; John Kreishman – Plan Commission; Stephen Myers – Plan Commission; Barb Heise - Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority; Mike Hobbs - Loop Special Business District—Advisory Commission. Mayor Adams thanked new members of the Boards and Commissions and commented upon the importance of their service to the City. Agenda item # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR City Manager Frank Ollendorff said Consent Calendar was recommended for Council approval and included items of routine business which have been discussed previously to the extent necessary. 1. Jail Cell Addition Invitations to bid were issued two occasions to a total of thirteen companies. Funds are available for the June 2004 bond issue. The following bid was received: Kwame Construction …………………………………..$63,195.92 (Minority Business Enterprise) There were some additional requirements added to the original plans for the jail project after the Police Department reviewed a local jail cell project just completed by Kwame. One of the additions was for the inclusion of a Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning System. The price of $7,500.00 for the HVAC system is an estimated cost which may need to be adjusted upon design completion. The City Manager recommended the contract be awarded to Kwame Construction for their bid of $63,195. 2. Picnic License – 7148 Forsyth Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of a license for beer and wine sales at Our Lady of Lourdes on March 11, 2005. All requirements have been met. 3. Leaf Vacuum for Parks Department Request for Quotations were sent to vendors for subject mower for the Parks Department and $16,000 was set aside for this purchase.
