Regular Meeting <br />February 14, 2005 <br /> <br />on the Arts and Letters Commission, for a first term ending January 2, 2009, and Mr. <br />Wagner seconded, passing unanimously. <br /> <br />OATH OF OFFICE <br /> <br />The City Clerk administered the oath of office to: Rosalyn Borg – Plan Commission; <br />John Kreishman – Plan Commission; Stephen Myers – Plan Commission; Barb Heise - <br />Land Clearance Redevelopment Authority; Mike Hobbs - Loop Special Business <br />District—Advisory Commission. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams thanked new members of the Boards and Commissions and commented <br />upon the importance of their service to the City. <br /> <br />Agenda item # 1 - CONSENT CALENDAR <br /> <br />City Manager Frank Ollendorff said Consent Calendar was recommended for Council <br />approval and included items of routine business which have been discussed previously <br />to the extent necessary. <br /> <br />1. Jail Cell Addition <br /> <br />Invitations to bid were issued two occasions to a total of thirteen companies. Funds are <br />available for the June 2004 bond issue. The following bid was received: <br /> <br />Kwame Construction …………………………………..$63,195.92 <br />(Minority Business Enterprise) <br /> <br />There were some additional requirements added to the original plans for the jail project <br />after the Police Department reviewed a local jail cell project just completed by Kwame. <br />One of the additions was for the inclusion of a Heating Ventilation Air Conditioning <br />System. The price of $7,500.00 for the HVAC system is an estimated cost which may <br />need to be adjusted upon design completion. The City Manager recommended the <br />contract be awarded to Kwame Construction for their bid of $63,195. <br /> <br />2. Picnic License – 7148 Forsyth <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended approval of a license for beer and wine sales at Our Lady <br />of Lourdes on March 11, 2005. All requirements have been met. <br /> <br />3. Leaf Vacuum for Parks Department <br /> <br />Request for Quotations were sent to vendors for subject mower for the Parks <br />Department and $16,000 was set aside for this purchase.
