Item number four then became item number three, and item <br />three became Agenda Item Number 8. <br /> <br />4) Renovation of Tennis Courts – Heman Park <br /> <br />Invitations to Bid were sent to three companies for subject requirements. <br />$280,000 was granted by the Municipal Parks commission of St. Louis County for <br />this project. The following bids were received: <br /> <br />Australian Courtworks, inc. $255,000 <br />Kozeny-Wagner, Inc. $270,000 <br />Trans Texas Tennis, Inc. $219,369 <br /> <br />Mr. Ollendorff recommended making the award to Trans Texas Tennis, Inc. for <br />their bid of $219,369.00. <br /> <br />Ms. Welsch moved approval of the Consent Calendar and Ms. Colquitt <br />seconded, with the motion passing unanimously. <br /> <br />Agenda Item # Two – Public Hearing on Alley Vacation 6901 Olive <br /> <br />City Manager, Frank Ollendorff, said Public Hearing has been scheduled for this time <br />and place, to consider vacating an alley at the rear of 6901 Olive, located between that <br />address and homes on Bartmer. The request came from the developer of the property <br />at 6901 Olive, who needs the additional depth to carry out his improvement plan. <br />Approval was recommended, but he added this is the time for a Public Hearing. <br /> <br />Mayor Adams declared the Public Hearing open at 6:30 P.M. <br /> <br />Steve Kuper, 2417 White Oaks Drive, Springfield, Illinois, came to request vacation of a <br />portion of the alley behind the property under development. He explained that as it <br />exists now, the alley cuts through the rear of the building. They want to move the <br />building farther to the north to accommodate for parking spaces as well as some <br />required green space requirements. They propose to landscape the alley that abuts the <br />residential property to the north. Mayor Adams asked him to show the map he brought <br />with him to the audience and he did so, pointing out what he had just mentioned. <br /> <br />Ms. Colquitt asked if he had met with the residents whose property abuts this plan and <br />he responded that he had contacted Richard Dockett who contacted the residents in <br />question, some of whom were present in the audience tonight. <br /> <br />Page 3 <br /> <br />
