1. Demolition Bids -7430 Delmar Blvd.

New bids were received for the demolition of 7430 Delmar Blvd. and are as
follows:

Diamond "H", Inc. $16,400
E.C.E. Incorporated $25,000

Mr. Ollendorff said this was the third time a contract was recommended. In 2000,
Council approved a contract. The owner appealed for more time to make repairs.
The Council approved the next contract last July. That contract was cancelled
last month and the demolition contractor failed to perform the duties under that
contract and that contract is dead, so new bids were advertised. I recommend the
low bid be awarded to Diamond H. He said he thought Councilmember Welsch would
like to see that item held over for a couple of weeks for several reasons.

Ms. Welsch said she asked it to be removed because she noticed the problems
going back to 1997. Her concern was the loss of a beautiful building from the
Delmar city landscape and not knowing what will replace it. During a discussion
she had with the City Manager, he said he did not know if it was possible to
build a two family flat in that space. She was concerned about a single-family
home being built amidst multi-family residences. She said developers had
approached the City Manager to express interest in the site. She said it may be
possible for the City to acquire the property and turn it over to a developer to
renovate it into condominiums or apartments.

Since complete information was not available, she asked for this to be tabled
for another two weeks, until information from the City Manager is forthcoming
and can be voted upon. She hopes the building can be protected, but also wants
to guarantee that an empty lot will not replace it on a high profile site. Ms.
Welsch made a motion to table, and Mr. Sharpe seconded, which passed
unanimously. Mayor Adams explained that he contributed to the delay of this
matter several years ago.

2. 2005-2006 Annual Order – Industrial/Janitorial Supplies

These supplies include 92 various janitorial, maintenance, chemical and paper
products. Invitations to Bid were issued to eleven possible sources with the
following responses:

INDUSTRIAL SUPPLIES

NEW SYSTEM $22,739.86
18-No Bids

CORPORATE
$26,013.11
EXPRESS

ZEP $44,043.63
19-No Bids

INDUSTRIAL $21,240.35
SOAP 3-No Bids
